Jim Hart has been named publisher/advertising director of Minot Daily News effective Thursday.

Hart has just completed his sixth year at Minot Daily News, an Ogden Newspaper publication as advertising director. He has been in the newspaper business for 20 years, having started with the Chicago Sun-Times in a call center. He moved on to become advertising director/circulation director in Kansas, and then worked for publications in Iowa and Wyoming. He started with Ogden Newspapers when hired in Minot in May 2013. He took on the additional role of creative services director in 2017.

A Chicago native, Hart says he enjoys Minot and is looking forward to his new role.

“I am honored by the opportunity and I want to acknowledge our terrific staff,” Hart said. “Our veteran editorial staff will continue to provide local news while we identify marketing solutions for area businesses. I look forward to working with community and business leaders to continually strengthen our position in the community and to serve our readers and marketing partners.”

Hart lives in Minot with his wife, Jenni, and their son Preston, who starts middle school this year.
