Barrett Sogard of Williston will graduate from the United States Naval Academy on May 24.

After completing four years at the Naval Academy, Sogard will graduate with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a minor in German.

Upon graduation, he has been selected to join the U.S. Marine Corps as a second lieutenant. His first assignment will be to attend The Basic School for Marine Officers in Quantico, Va.

Prior to attending the Naval Academy, Sogard attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School, Williston Public Schools, and The Hotchkiss School of Lakeville, Conn.

He is the son of Pat and Tammy Sogard of Williston, and the grandson of the late Thomas and Shirley Davidson and the late Oliver and Mavis Sogard.
