Rosa Maria Winanz, 29, Mandaree, is accused of punching two other women in the face without provocation at the Ward County Jail on Friday and breaking one woman’s nose.

Winanz is charged in district court in Minot with one count of Class C felony aggravated assault and one count of Class B misdemeanor simple assault.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the two alleged victims had been sitting together at a table in the dayroom at the jail when Winanz walked up and hit one of the women in the face twice. The other woman stood up and pushed Winanz away and Winanz hit her in the face once.

One of the women told police that Winanz had accused her of saying negative things about her.
