Police identify deceased man as Leonard McCauley, Minot

A man found dead on top of an RV in the Capital RV parking lot at 3000 14th Avenue SW in Minot on Saturday has been identified by Minot police as Leonard McCauley, 26, Minot.

According to police, McCauley was found dead, without any clothes on. He was discovered at 2:27 p.m. Surveillance video from the business showed that McCauley climbed onto the roof of the RV at about 12:21 a.m. He appeared to be trying to get inside before he laid down on the roof. He remained there until someone passing by spotted him and called the police. Police believe McCauley had been walking throughout southwest Minot before he died. Police do not suspect foul play in McCauley’s death.

An autopsy will be scheduled at the medical examiner’s office in Bismarck to determine the cause of death.
