Winners of the Rotary essay contest announced

Winners of the Rotary Club of Minot and Sunrise Rotary Club’s “Four-Way Essay Test Contest” have been announced.

Rebekah Larson, Glenburn High School, is the winner of the Sunrise Rotary essay contest, with her essay, “Be Happy, Love Yourself.” Sarah Meier, Minot High School, is the winner of the Noon Rotary’s contest, with her essay, “Will Art Soon be a Thing of the Past?” Each of the girls received a $250 prize.

Rotary supports the ideas of our young people and believe that it is important to reward our youth for expressing their views in a constructive and meaningful way. The Four-Way Test is an ethical guide that Rotarians use for their personal and professional relationships, and is recited at club meetings: “The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:

1. Is it the truth?

2. Is it fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”
