An early Friday accident has resulted in the death of 29-year-old Jeri Lynn Monette of Tioga.

According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol report, a Peterbilt semi pulling a 2011 Troxell 130 trailer, driven by David Caudill of New Brockton, Alabama, had mechanical issues and came to a stop on the right shoulder of U.S. Highway 2 approximately 10 miles northeast of Williston. At 5:03 a.m., Monette’s 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup struck the rear of the trailer, ejecting her from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Caudill was transported to Tioga Hospital for precautionary measures.
