Two people were arrested on charges of selling drugs and weapons Thursday following a law enforcement raid on a southwest Minot residence.

Steven Smiley is charged with Class B felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class B felony, possession and sale of machine guns, automatic weapons, silencers or bombs, a Class C felony, possession of heroin, a Class C felony, and two counts of Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia other than marijuana.
Krisan Smiley is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class B felony, possession and sale of automatic weapons, silencers or bombs, a Class C felony, possession of heroin, a Class A misdemeanor and two counts of Class A misdemenaor possession of drug paraphernalia other than marijuana.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force assisted ATF Agents in executing a search warrant at the address on 2815 1st Avenue SW on Thursday morning. They had reports that Steven Smiley, who has a felony theft conviction, and Krisan Smiley had been advertising and selling firearms. Smiley is not allowed to possess firearms. When they executed the search warrant, they saw a wooden box on the floor containing baggies of marijuana packaged to sell. The officers then went and got another search warrant for the residence for a more extensive search.
The search turned up marijuana packaged for sale, paraphernalia including a digital scale, glass smoking devices and a grinder, and another digital scale with black tar heroin residue. Inside a gun safe they found more than $14,000 in U.S. currency.
The ATF also seized 20 firearms from the residence, firearm parts and a handmade silencer with no serial number, according to the affidavit.
