City of Minot crews begin street sweeping schedule

Crews from the City of Minot have begun the annual task of cleaning dirt and other debris that accumulated on city streets during the winter months.

This week, the city’s sweeping crews are working from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. sweeping major roadways such as Burdick Expressway and Broadway, as well as islands, medians and underpasses.

Beginning Monday, April 30, crews will begin cleaning the four quadrants of the city, using Broadway and Burdick Expressway as dividing lines. Within the four quadrants, crews will be working in different zones. Residents are encouraged to restrict on-street vehicle parking when sweepers are in their area.

A map containing the various zones can be found at minotnd.org/300/Street. Daily up-dates will be posted on that site to identify zones where sweepers will be working. The same zones are also used in the snow removal process during winter months.

There is a gap in the schedule for the City Wide Cleanup week beginning May 14.

Street sweeping schedule for 2018:

— April 30-May 11: Northwest quadrant

— May 21-June 1: Southwest quadrant

— June 4-June 15: Southeast quadrant

— June 18-June 29: Northeast quadrant

Other Street Department crews will be working daytime shifts to fix any damage to yards or mailboxes, blading alleys and filling potholes.
