Three injured in accident near Rock Lake

Three people were injured in a two vehicle accident five miles south of Rock Lake on Highway 281 on Monday morning, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Connie Odegaard, 56, Perth, was driving a 2016 Ford F150 south on the roadway. Gerald Berg, 76, Hansboro, was driving a Chevrolet north on the roadway. Odegaard’s Ford slid out of control on the frosty, icy road surface and struck the Chevrolet. Both vehicles then entered the east ditch.

Odegaard and Brexton Bjornstad, 2, of Langdon, a passenger in her vehicle, and Berg were all taken by ambulance to a Cando hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Odegaard and Berg were both wearing seat belts and were protected with air bags. The child was in a car seat.

The accident happened at 8:25 a.m. Monday.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
