Woman charged with criminal trespass
A 38-year-old Minot woman is accused of coming home drunk early Tuesday morning and breaking into one neighbor’s residence and trying to break into the residence of another at 3511 11th Avenue SE.
One neighbor ordered Brandy Sue Semm to leave at gunpoint; the neighbors in the other residence took refuge in a bathroom when they heard Semm trying to break in for up to 10 minutes, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court.
Semm is charged with one count of criminal trespass and one count of criminal attempt to trespass, both Class C felonies carrying a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. She appeared in district court in Minot on Tuesday.
Judge Gary Lee set a preliminary hearing date in the case for Dec. 21. He ordered Semm to stay away from the neighbors’ residences and have no contact with any of the residents. He also ordered her to participate in Ward County’s 24/7 Sobriety Program while she is out on bond. Lee set bond at $3,000 cash, with a requirement that Semm post 10 percent of that.
