Wildrose man wins Pyrotechnics Guild honor

Submitted Photo Bruce Rosten holds awards earned at the Pyrotechnics Guild Association.

Bruce Rosten, Wildrose, won Grand Master at the Pyrotechnics Guild Association held in Fargo recently. He competed with shells, rockets and ground devices that he built.

Rosten has won the award twice before in 1998 and 2003 in Gillette, Wyo.

He is the only North Dakotan to win a Grand Master award and a PGI Life Master Award.

Rosten started building Italian-style fireworks in 1992. These shells differ from the usual “ball” shells in that they are in cylinder form. His 10-inch shells weighed between 40 to 50 pounds each.
