Bowmen celebrate new Education Center

Kim Fundingsland/MDN Members and supporters of Minot’s Souris Valley Bowmen attended an open house at the club’s new Archery Education Center. The facility is located at the club’s range in Trestle Valley west of Minot.

It’s an attention getter. No question about it. The new Archery Education Center located on the grounds of the Souris Valley Bowmen range west of Minot is a terrific addition to an already impressive facility.

“It’s all about the kids. It’s about the youth,” said Roger Coleman, SVB president. “It’s all about the sport of archery.”

The Archery Education Center includes bathrooms, a full kitchen and plenty of room for adult and youth archers to gather and learn more about the sport of archery. The center is connected to the club’s indoor shooting range.

“Through this new facility here we can talk about archery. We’ve got archery videos and books,” said Coleman. “It’s really a dream come true for a lot of us. We’re very proud to have it and we hope it draws membership. We want people to know the Souris Valley Bowmen are going strong in Trestle Valley.”

According to Coleman, interest in the club and it’s newest addition has already resulted in the signing up of several new members. It is a trend the bowmen feel will continue as more and more archers become aware of the local layout and what it has to offer.

The club has two of the finest outdoor ranges in the Midwest, one being a 28-target layout on virtually level ground and the other a challenging 3-D test utilizing the nearby wooded coulees and hills. A stream running through the course adds greatly to the outdoor experience. An additional outdoor target range allows for youth and adult practice as well.

“Oh yes, it’s unreal!” remarked Coleman. “We have the setting, the surroundings and a new facility.”

The SVB ranges and Archery Education Center is located in Trestle Valley on County Road 12 west of Minot.

Starting at $2.99/week.
