Update: Shooting incident
Minot Police officers were dispatched this afternoon at 3:11 p.m. to the 500 block of 9th Street NE for a report of gunshots. A Ward County deputy arrived on scene and had two people in custody, one of which had a stab wound.
While responding to the scene, detectives were diverted to the hospital for two males who showed up at the emergency room for treatment of gunshot wounds. It was determined they were connected to the gunshots fired in the 500 block of 9th Street NE.
Evidence led the investigators to 516-9th Street NE, which is where the incident originated. Search warrants were obtained to search for evidence related to the shooting and stabbing.
A 24-year-old male was treated and released for his gunshot wound.
29-year-old Marlon Mitchell was treated and released for his gunshot wound, but was arrested by detectives for aggravated assault (Class C felony) for the knife wounds to Dealvis Harris. He was taken to Ward County Jail.
33-year-old Dealvis J. Harris is being treated for his stab wounds. He was also arrested for reckless endangerment (Class C felony), 2 counts of aggravated assault (Class C felonies), possession of a stolen firearm (Class C felony), and possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor). He will be taken to the Ward County Jail upon his release from Trinity Hospital.
