Brine release in Divide County contained
MCGREGOR The release of brine or oil-field produced water about six miles northwest of McGregor, has been contained, North Dakota Department of Health officials said Wednesday.
Initial data from Continental Resources Inc., the reporting company, said about 630 gallons of brine were spilled due to a gasket leak on a brine pipeline. The spill impacted nearby soil and waters of a frozen prairie pothole.
Health department inspectors are monitoring the clean up and response by company personnel on location.
