District 6 voters elect Republicans

State Rep. Paul Thomas, R-Velva, won a seat in the North Dakota Senate Tuesday with a 7,312 to 1,525 victory over independent candidate Robert Tolar of Bottineau, according to the unofficial tally in District 6. Running unopposed for the state House of Representatives were Rep. Dick Anderson and Dan Vollmer, both Republicans from Willow City. Republican incumbent, newcomer take District 38

The District 38 race was won by Republicans. Christina Wolff and Dan Ruby beat out Lisa Hermosillo, the Democratic candidate, in District 38’s 2024 election. Wolff is a newcomer to politics for the Republican Party and said that her campaign had been much more involved than she thought. She said she spent 15-20 hours each week knocking on doors campaigning and getting to know people in the community. Election interest is up this year

Figures from the North Dakota Secretary of State showed 5,415 Ward County voters had cast their ballots through 4 p.m. Wednesday in early voting at the county administration building in Minot. Another 3,870 absentee ballots have been returned so far in an election that has been drawing voter interest across the state. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, 113,507 people had voted early and 36,063 had returned their absentee ballots across North Dakota.
