Minot and area weather-related postponements

Inclement weather postpones boys soccer state tournament

Due to threats of storms and blizzards, the Minot High School boys soccer team will have to wait to play its first game in the state tournament.

The state tournament, which was scheduled to start today, will now begin on Monday, Oct. 14, at Starion Sports Complex in Mandan. The Magicians will face off against Fargo South at 1:15 p.m.

Minot is participating in its 10th straight state tournament. The Magi come in as the West Region’s No. 3 seed.

Take Back the Night event postponed

The Minot State University Title IX Office, Student Social Work Organization, and the Domestic Violence Crisis Center’s Take Back the Night event, scheduled for Oct. 9 at the MSU Beaver Dam, has been postponed due to impending inclement weather forecast for the greater Minot area, according to a press release.. No future date has been set as of this time.

Tom Rathburn visit canceled

The Minot Area Council for International Visitors (MACIV), headquartered at Minot State University, announces the cancellation of Tom Rathburn’s visit due to the inclement weather forecast for the greater Minot area.

Rathburn, the Branch Chief for Community Relations, Office of International Visitors, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. State Department, was scheduled to attend various events Oct. 9-11.
