Minot police disclosed at 9 p.m. Friday that a fatal shooting is being investigated as a possible homicide.

“At 3:44 PM today (Friday), officers were dispatched to a northwest Minot residence for a male with a gunshot wound. Officers found a 55 year old male deceased in the residence and investigators were called to the scene. A homicide investigation is currently underway and more details will follow when available.”

The brief statement by police also indicated the public is not believed to be at risk.

“Police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no inherent danger to the public,” the report stated.
