Weekend events in Minot fun for all ages

As another weekend begins, more events are planned for all ages to enjoy. Movies in the Park will feature “How to Train Your Dragon 3” tonight, Jellybean Entertainment and Loud and Proud will be presenting “Summer of Love,” featuring local and regional drag performers on Saturday, and Minot Parks will be hosting a Scavenger Hunt to celebrate National Parks and Rec Month on Sunday.

Movies in the Park

Taking place at 9:30 p.m. tonight at Oak Park, the Movies in the Park will feature “How To Train Your Dragon 3.” Rated PG, the movie is free to attend and open to all ages.

‘Summer of Love” Show

Starting at 8 p.m. at the Grand Hotel, Jellybean Entertainment will be presenting “Summer of Love.” The show will feature local and regional drag performers.

The show will be open to all ages, though they do warn that parental discretion is advised since some subject matter, content and language may not be suitable for younger audiences.

A cash bar will be available for those over the age of 21 and an ATM is located in the hotel lobby if needed.

Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased through the event Facebook page. A VIP table is available for $20 per person and requires the purchase of five tickets.

Minot Parks

July is National Parks and Rec month and to celebrate, Minot Parks will be holding a Scavenger Hunt starting at 2 p.m. at Roosevelt Park as a kick-off to their week of events. The hunt is open to all ages and is free to take part in.

Those wanting to take part will check in at shelter 14 near the playground and tennis courts. Hunters will receive a bag and a scavenger hunt list and be sent off to unplug and play.

The Scavenger Hunt won’t be timed and you won’t need to turn in the list when finished. It is meant to be a fun event to explore the park and not a competition.

Minot Parks does ask that those taking part be respectful to the park when finding the hunt items.
