Prairie Grit hosts second annual banquet

Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports started in 2015 with the goal of providing sports opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. As a nonprofit, the group hosts fundraising events to help fund goals and events it have set up. Its largest fundraiser will be hitting the Sleep Inn and Suites scene tomorrow.

The Second Annual Banquet and Family Social will take place tomorrow evening starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $50.

The event offers dinner, silent auction, children’s activities, dancing and a special keynote speaker. For Prairie Grit, it is not only a fundraising event, but also something it does to bring people out and spread the word of what Prairie Grit is and does.

“Last year’s event went really well,” said Drew Hanson, Prairie Grit’s director. “It was a good event and we are trying to build off that success.”

The special keynote speaker for the second banquet will be PGA tour golfer Patrick Moore. Moore was once a resident of the Minot area and is returning for the special banquet.

Dinner will have a few different options as it will be provided by Qdoba, Applebee’s, Starving Rooster and Elevation. Music for the dance will be provided by Magic City Music Factory.

Tickets can be purchased online at Eventures.
