Music, open mic and drinks

As it is Labor Day weekend, many will be heading out of town to enjoy the final days of the lake or of camping, but not everyone will be. For those staying in town, a variety of musical events for all ages are planned.

Kicking off the evening of music tonight, Pangea House is presenting “Amplified Music.” Starting at 7 p.m., this open to all ages event includes both local and guest performers at the 62 Doors Gallery and Studio. Performers will be Vail, Terror Pigeon, Kayu-Kayu Berak and Clutterpiles. Admission is free, though a $5 donation is suggested.

For those wanting to perform or hear locals perform, Classic Rock Coffee will hold another All Ages Open Mic Night today from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is part of a previous series called Share Your Shine Open Mic Nites that helped produce artists that were featured at Beardstock and Rock the Leaves over the years.

The open mic night is open to all ages and it works to give artists of all disciplines a place to share their musical gifts in an “intimate stage setting,” according to the events page.

For those looking for a 21 or older scene, many bars such as The Original Bar and Night Club and Ebeneezer’s will be featuring artists on Friday and Saturday.
