Heuders to present at Lighthouse Church on Sunday

Lighthouse Church in Minot will host missionaries Rev. Duane and Cari Heuder on Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. service. Rev. Duane Heuders is a full-time missionary working with Teen Challenge International. He and his wife, Cari, have been involved in Teen Challenge since 1969, both in the United States and overseas. For nine years they directed the Teen Challenge men’s discipleship center in Philadelphia, Pa, and Cari led a city-wide ministry to street children. First Lutheran in Williston to hold lutefisk and meatball dinner on Feb. 23

First Lutheran Church in Williston will hold its 86th annual Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner at the Fellowship Hall in Williston from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 23. Tickets are available at the church office, Monday through Friday. The cost is $18 for adults, or $15 before Feb. 20; $8 for students through junior high age. Preschoolers will be admitted for free. Six hundred men, women, and youth are involved in preparing, planning, and serving the family style dinner. Rev. Rick Steele is new pastor at UCC

Rev. Rick Steele has joined Minot’s Congregational United Church of Christ as its pastor. An ordained minister in the UCC, Steele grew up in Chicago, attending a UCC church. He was called to full-time ministry after a career in information technology, with AT&T, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the Spencer Foundation. His wife, Ruth, retired after a career as a tax accountant.
