Christian Center expansion

A campaign goal of $4.5 million has been reached that will fund improvements and expansion to facilities at Metigoshe Ministries’ Pelican Lake summer camp site and the Christian Center on Lake Metigoshe.

According to a press release, the completed projects at Camp Metigoshe include 16 new cabins, an expanded storm shelter, staff office and meeting space, and a new retreat house named Gary’s Place. Work on the Christian Center expansion has begun and is expected to be completed next year. That project will provide three additional conference rooms, a chapel, a sauna, and six additional rooms for overnight guests at the retreat center on Lake Metigoshe.

“We have been able to build these projects as gifts and pledges have come in – so campers and retreat guests are already enjoying these wonderful – and needed – new spaces. To date, we have not had to borrow a dime,” said executive director Jon Halvorson in the press release.

“We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our donors and their commitment to Metigoshe Ministries. Much of the fundraising and construction work has been done by volunteers which is also incredible. Obviously, we would not be celebrating this milestone without them,” said campaign chair Carey Burke, from Berthold, in the press release.

According to the press release, the board of trustees is finalizing plans for the challenge goal to the Ensure the Adventure campaign to finish the retreat center expansion.
