Homeschool Clay Target League

The USA Clay Target League has launched the USA Homeschool Clay Target League, a new clay target program developed specifically for homeschool associations, organizations, student athletes, and their families.

“The mission of the USA Clay Target League includes the belief that all students should have the equal opportunity to participate.” said John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League. “Shooting sports strengthens connections within families and communities for life, and the demand for organized outdoor activities for homeschooled students has never been higher.”

The USA Clay Target League is the nation’s largest youth clay target shooting sport organization, and offers Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, and 5-Stand leagues to athletes and schools across the country. The League had over 30,000 students on over 1,200 school-approved teams nationwide in 2019. Launching the USA Homeschool Clay Target League will extend the opportunity to participate in clay target shooting sports to hundreds of thousands of homeschooled high school students across the country.

The League’s co-ed and adaptive nature are key attractions to schools nationwide. The League is fully Title IX compliant with both male and female athletes competing on the same team. Additionally, it’s an ‘adaptive’ sport, which allows students with physical disabilities to take part.

The League began in 2001. North Dakota’s Clay Target League has grown remarkably fast, closing in on 2,000 participants representing more than 60 high school trapshooting teams.
