Habitat workshop in Velva

The Velva Wildlife Club is hosting a Habitat Workshop on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Velva Wildlife Club building at 1901 Highway 52 West.

Area landowners and sportsmen are invited to an informational meeting to discuss habitat-conservation opportunities and programs that are available to landowners in the state.

“This meeting came about as an effort to inform landowners and other wildlife clubs about conservation and habitat possibilities that are available,” said D. J. Randolph, Velva Wildlife Club. “We are hoping that by bringing hunters, landowners and members of other agencies together we can come together on more projects in our region.”

Presenters will included R. J. Gross, North Dakota Game and Fish Department upland game biologist; Doug Johnston, district manager, South McHenry Soil Conservation District; Ryan Huber, NDGF private lands biologist and Collin Smith, district biologist, National Wild Turkey Federation.

The Velva Wildlife Club asks that anyone planning on attending contact them at 720-2134. A 6 p.m meal is planned.
