Former wing commander nominated for one star
A former missile wing commander at Minot Air Force Base, Col. Kenneth McGhee, has been nominated by President Trump for appointment to the grade of brigadier general, according to a June 13 announcement by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. McGhee was commander of the 91st Missile Wing from June 2022-June 2024. He is serving as senior military assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force, Department of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE -- Due to current global events and out of an abundance of caution and safety, the Minot Air Force Base Open House is regrettably canceled, according to Minot AFB officials. While there is no specific threat to Minot AFB or the local area, due to force protection considerations it is necessary to cancel today’s event. "We thank the public for your support and understanding. We look forward to hosting an even bigger and better event in the future," according to Minot AFB information.
