Prairie Warrior Auction raises funds for base activities

The Military Affairs Committee of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce presented a check for $19,000 raised at this year’s Prairie Warrior Auction to Minot Air Force Base officials recently.

Proceeds from the annual auction go to Minot AFB for various events, including squadron activities and annual awards banquets, according to Chamber information. Auction proceeds also go to Operation Warmheart, a year-round program that provides food, clothing and other essential items to needy service members and their families, and for Thanksgiving baskets during the holiday season.

This year’s auction was held in March at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center, Minot.

The annual auction now has raised about $670,000 over its more than 30-year history, to help with various activities at the base.
