Dakota Handcrafters: LeeAnn Greff

Current Hometown: Minot

How would you describe your specialty handcraft?

Paper crafting & stamping through greeting cards, scrapbooking, home decor and gifts.

What or who inspired you to become involved in it?

A group of friends were meeting monthly and since I’ve always been crafty, I joined them. It only took one time to get hooked! I fell in love with the coordinating colors and the creative process it entails.

How long have you been doing this type of work?

I’ve been crafty in different ways since I was young. I always liked sewing or making handmade gifts for family. I’ve been scrapbooking for 16 years and stamping for 14 years. With stamping, I feel like I’ve found my dream job of being creative while earning an income.

Do you do it for your own pleasure or offer it for sale?

Both. I enjoy the creative process of playing with colors and design. I feel it’s so important to many of us to have a creative outlet in our lives. It can brighten your day and lift your spirits.

Where can we see your handcraft?

At my blog at Flowerbug.net or https://www.facebook.com/flowerbugsinkspot.

Is your handcraft available for sale and if so, where?

I sell my hand made cards at my classes and events. I also sell scrapbook and card-making tutorials at flowerbugshop.com which has been a great way for people to craft projects I’ve designed even if they don’t live in Minot.

Have you taught others your handcraft and if so, would you be willing to teach it to others?

Yes! This is one of my favorite parts of stamping! I offer multiple classes and events each month. I have quite a few “card clubs” each month where a group of stampers get together and create the projects I prepare. They meet on the same day each month, such as the second Tuesday. They enjoy being creative together and often become good friends too. I’m always happy to welcome new people to a craft I love.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I worked as a nurse for over 35 years before retiring recently to teach stamping full time. My husband Andy and I have lived in Minot for 30 years and we have three adult children who live in Minot, Bismarck and Fargo and one granddaughter.
