Dakota Handcrafters: Paisley LeBaron

Current Hometown: Arnegard

How would you describe your specialty handcraft?

I make craft and activity kits for people of all ages. I include all of the supplies you need to complete an activity or create a craft. I make crafting easy and fun. Some of my favorite kits are my dinosaur eggs, good deed bead kit and my toolbox kit.

What or who inspired you to become involved in it?

My parents and grandparents inspired me. We’ve always enjoyed crafting as a way to spend time together.

How long have you been doing this type of work?

I started making kits six years ago when I was in kindergarten. I gave them as gifts for my friends’ birthdays because I like giving unique gifts. When I was 10, I decided to start selling these kits as a business.

Do you do it for your own pleasure or offer it for sale?

I offer my kits for sale through my business, Paisley’s Treasures.

Where can we see your handcraft?

Check out my website, www.paisleystreasures.com. I am also on Facebook and Instagram @PaisleysTreasures. I also have a shop on Etsy, www.paisleystreasures.etsy.com.

Is your handcraft available for sale and if so, where?

My kits are sold at 1 North Main in Garrison and The Market on 4th in Minot. I also sell online through my website, Facebook and Etsy.

Have you taught others your handcraft and if so, would you be willing to teach it to others?

I love to teach it to others. I’ve held a couple workshops over the summer where we made crafts like slime and bubbles. It’s a lot of fun to share my love of crafting with others.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m 11 years old and I’m in sixth grade. I live with my mom, dad, two brothers, two dogs and my farm animals in Arnegard. When I’m not crafting, you can find me spending time with my friends, playing my trumpet, or playing sports. My favorite sport is swimming. I love animals and am saving my business money for college so I can become a vet.
