The original home of Dot’s Pretzels, Velva is poised for its next claim to fame. Purchasing Dot’s Pretzels from founder Dot Henke in 2021, Hershey’s closed the Velva manufacturing plant two years later to shift operations elsewhere. It didn’t take long for a new manufacturer with a vision for a national market to fill the void. FED votes 11-1 in favor of .50% rate cut The most anticipated FED announcement in recent memory was finally revealed on Wednesday and the decision was made to reduce rates from 5-5.25% down to 4.75-5% with a .50% cut. Board Governor Michelle Bowman was the one dissenter favoring a smaller 25 basis point cut. That is the first dissenting vote by a Fed governor since 2005 and the first from any member since 2022. Corn prices: Don’t call it comeback For the second week in a row corn prices were positive on the week, leading some to speculate that the lows may be in.
