Trinity Health hires, promotes staff

KJ Armstrong

Trinity Health has named Tricia “Trish” Stewart as its new director of Primary Care Operations and has promoted KJ Armstrong to director of Oncology at Trinity Health’s CancerCare Center.

Stewart brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in hospitality, dental and medical operations to her role. She will oversee operational efficiency, service excellence and financial performance across Trinity Health’s primary care clinics, while maintaining relationships with providers and team members and leading process improvements.

A native of South Bend, Indiana, Stewart has spent the past decade in senior operational roles supporting primary care and multidisciplinary medical practices, including overseeing multisite primary care clinics.

One of her most significant accomplishments was serving as regional appointment conversion coordinator during a major electronic health record transition for a healthcare system in Indiana. In that role, she led the conversion of patient appointments from Cerner to Epic, working to ensure continuity of care, operational readiness and minimal disruption to primary care access during the system transformation.

“Trish’s operational expertise and people-centered leadership will strengthen our primary care clinics,” said Renda Wilson, Provider Network Organization administrator. “Her track record of improving efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on patient and team member experience makes her an excellent fit for Trinity Health.”

As director of Oncology, Armstrong’s focus includes supporting teams, ensuring high-quality and patient-centered care, maintaining accreditation and regulatory readiness and helping grow and strengthen the oncology service line.

Armstrong has been with Trinity Health for more than two years and has been a member of the organization’s clinical leadership team. Most recently, she served as the Trauma program manager at Trinity Health and is an active member of the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

A native of East Texas and graduate of Texas A&M University, Armstrong is a nurse leader known for a data-driven approach grounded in team building, culture change and genuine care for the people she works alongside. Armstrong believes strong leadership is measured not only by outcomes but by whether teams feel supported, seen and proud of the work they do together, according to Trinity information.

“KJ’s leadership and clinical expertise make her exceptionally well-suited for this role,” said Jeanne Scinto, chief operating officer at Trinity Health. “Her data-driven approach, combined with her genuine commitment to our teams and patients, will be a tremendous asset as we continue advancing our oncology service line.”
