Bank offers loan assistance to federal employees
FARGO – Gate City Bank is offering assistance to federal government employees experiencing financial hardship due to the recent government shutdown.
The banks’ BetterLife Relief Loan program for federal government employees who are directly impacted by the shutdown offers zero interest and no fees. This short-term loan is intended to help cover delays while they are not receiving a paycheck.
“As a mutual bank, we take the impact of this situation very seriously for our customers and the communities we serve,” says Kim Settel, chief retail banking officer at Gate City Bank. “Missing a paycheck isn’t just inconvenient. For many individuals and families, it can be overwhelming to figure out how they are going to buy groceries or pay the utility bill this month.”
Gate City Bank is also providing assistance with loan payment options.
Eligible federal employees can call Gate City Bank at 800-423-3344 or 293-2400 or via email at OnlineBanking@GateCity.Bank. They also can also stop by any Gate City Bank location.
