Gate City Bank celebrates a Day of Giving

The Gate City Bank Lending Team Branden Stephenson, Mason Cool, Heather Keller, Kim Bartsch, Cole Stober, Colton Bourquin were on hand to provide cookies and juice for a blood drive put on by The Title Team and the Minot Board of Realtors.

In conjunction with the bank’s 100th anniversary, Gate City Bank celebrated a Day of Giving by making donations and acts of kindness in the Minot community.

Members of the Gate City Bank lending team assisted the efforts of The Title Team and the Minot Board of Realtors by providing donations of their signature fresh baked cookies and orange juice for a blood drive on Tuesday. The drive exceeded expectations, bringing in 25 units from 30 donors. The teams also supported a school supply drive organized by the Minot Area Homeless Coalition, donating backpacks and other much needed supplies.

Gate City Building and Loan Association, as it was originally known, was named after the city of Fargo, which is where it was originally founded in 1923 by architect and builder William D. Gillespie. In the century since, Gate City Bank has grown and expanded throughout the Upper Midwest. The first branch established in downtown Minot. Gate City Bank was one of 21 banks and credit unions in North Dakota that participated in the Rebuilders Loan Program which offered loans at 1% interest rate for those affected by the Souris River Flood of 2011.

The institution currently employs more than 770 team members at 44 locations in 23 communities in North Dakota and Minnesota. Earlier this year, Gate City Bank released a memoir chronicling the 100-year history of the bank titled “For a Better Way of Life.”
