Minot banker named Outstanding Banker

Emily Schock, Loan Origination Team lead at First International Bank & Trust, recently graduated from the Dakota School of Banking sponsored by the North Dakota Bankers Association and endorsed by the South Dakota Bankers Association.

In its 49th year, the school trained 65 bank personnel. The school was held on the University of Jamestown campus in Jamestown.

Schock received the honor of Outstanding Banker of the Year. The school administrative team chooses one student to be recognized as Outstanding Banker from the graduating class. Criteria for the designation includes scholastic achievement during the two-year course of study, contribution to and participation in the class and overall personal contribution with the student body.

“The Dakota School of Banking was a great experience, from the learning opportunities to networking with colleagues,” said Schock. “I look forward to putting the knowledge I’ve gained to work.”

Schock has been employed at First International Bank & Trust since May 2012 and works in the Minot Broadway office.

Dakota School of Banking students are enrolled for two years, attending the school one week each summer. The first-year session provides an overview of the banking industry and the departments that make up a bank. The second-year session builds on the banking knowledge gained in the first year and adds a computerized bank management simulation to reinforce technical and functional management skills.

Starting at $2.99/week.
