Minot city sales tax collections were up 12% in 2021 over the previous year, according to information from the City of Minot.

City records showed collections of $11.57 million per each of the two 1% sales taxes, up from $10.3 million in 2020 and the highest since 2015. Sales tax collections peaked at $13.6 million per penny in 2014.

Minot’s sales tax goes to uses such as infrastructure, economic development, flood protection, the Northwest Area Water Supply project and property-tax relief.
