Aspire Credit Union issues fraud alert
Aspire Credit Union recently became aware of a website duplicating its existing site, including look and branding. The fraudulent website also altered the logo to read “Aspire Credit Bank” instead of “Aspire Credit Union.”
Aspire Credit Union reports its systems have not been breached with this activity and the credit union has been working with its service providers and has contacted the FBI Internet Crime Department to ensure its continued security.
The credit union wants members and potential members to be aware that this fake site has intentions of phishing for personal information from individuals who provide it. Members should visit www.aspire.creditunion directly to avoid landing on an incorrect site.
Moving forward, as the credit union works to have the fake website removed, staff may ask members additional questions to confirm identity. If you visited the incorrect website and know your account information was entered into the spoofed website, please monitor your accounts and notify the credit union immediately should you feel your information has been compromised.
Aspire Credit Union, formerly Prairie Federal Credit Union, has served the Minot area communities since 1937. Aspire Credit Union is a community-chartered credit union serving Bottineau, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Renville and Ward counties.
