Former Minot resident named 2021 Legacy Leader

FARGO — A former Minot resident, Mark Nisbet, was honored as the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Legacy Leader.

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., helped honor Nisbet during the FMWF Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting on Oct. 12.

Nisbet was Xcel Energy’s community relations manager while in Minot. He was promoted to North Dakota principal manager and moved to Fargo.

Hoeven highlighted Nisbet’s leadership in the region, including as the former principal manager for North Dakota at Xcel Energy, as well as his service on the Chamber’s Business Leaders for Permanent Flood Protection Taskforce and the Downtown Community Partnership.

“Mark has been a leader in North Dakota throughout his career, and I’ve had the pleasure working with him to advance important projects for our state. That includes efforts to secure permanent flood protection in the Red River Valley. We’ve made good progress, and continue working to complete this vital project. Mark is very deserving of this award and we thank him for his work on behalf of our state,” said Hoeven.
