ND airports post highest boardings since COVID

North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports posted 81,499 airline passenger boardings during the month of June, according to the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission. The numbers reflect the highest level of passenger traffic the state has seen since the COVID-19 pandemic began and continues the positive trend of growing airline passenger demand. June passenger levels remain only 19% below the pre-pandemic passenger level in June of 2019.

Passenger boardings at the Minot airport in June totaled 12,033, compared to 3,912 in June 2020 and 13,632 in June 2019. The June 2021 numbers were down 11.73% from June 2019.

“The continual growth in demand for air travel is great news and helps to fuel optimism for the airline industry that is operating within our state.” said Kyle Wanner, executive director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.
