Minot Junior Golf hires executive director
Minot Junior Golf Association has hired Dusty Zimmerman as its first executive director.
With its newly designed golf course, the organization announced that it is expanding efforts to facilitate golf programming and experiences for Minot’s youth. The new position will allow the non-profit to focus resources on the growth and development of the Jack Hoeven Wee Links and golf opportunities for children throughout the area.
“Dusty is the perfect fit at the perfect time to move our organization forward and really expand what we do for junior golf in the Minot area” said MJGA President Reed Argent.
Zimmerman is a graduate of Minot State University with a degree in business management. She has worked in a number of capacities in various nonprofit and for-profit organizations throughout Minot and brings over 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, marketing, public relations, communications and business development.
MJGA was established in 1989. In 2003, the organization established, and currently manages, the Jack Hoeven Wee Links Golf Course, providing a nine-hole golf course for children. The course required a redesign as a result of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project and re-opened in 2021.
MJGA’s desire to provide children with affordable activities to build physical, social and community skills is emphasized as children 14 years of age and younger golf for $1, and adults may accompany them for $5. Youth golf clubs are also available to rent for an additional $1. For more information, visit the Jack Hoeven Wee Links Facebook page.
