Magic City Daycare now open in site on MSU Campus

Magic CityDaycare is now open for business on the Minot State University Campus.

Sarah Seay, owner and operator of the daycare, said the business was forced to move out of its former location by June 30 and has been able to reopen in two new locations, north and south, this month.

The north site can care for children 2 1/2 years old and up and is primarily for preschoolers and school-age children in Dakota Hall at Minot State University. The north site cares for children of all ages and is located in the metro center at 1420 20th Avenue SW.

“It was quite the journey to get to this point but we made it,” said Seay, who said she didn’t know up until the very last minute whether the daycare would be able to move to the MSU campus.

Magic City Daycare has already cared for children of college students and MSU faculty and staff at its former location.

Seay said the Dakota Hall location is a great location and will enable continuing partnerships with MSU programs.

Students who are majoring in fields such as speech language pathology, early education, elementary education, or nursing have often gained hands-on experience by working on projects with children at the daycare, benefiting both the college student and the daycare children.

“Now that we’re on campus that partnership will only continue to grow,” said Seay.

Seay said Magic City Daycare also plans to have a licensed preschool on the site by this fall.

Hours of operation are 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are currently openings available.
