Sanford hires head of Native American outreach

BISMARCK –Scott Davis has joined the Bismarck Region of Sanford Health as the new head of Native American community outreach. His role will include overseeing tribal specific outreach and develop relationships with all recognized Native American tribes and tribal leaders within central and western North Dakota.

Davis joins Sanford Health after previously serving as the North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission executive director since April 2009. There, he tackled issues including health care systems, education systems, economic development, and the Burgum-Sanford administration’s Tribal Partnerships initiative.

Davis is a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and a descendent of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and master’s in management from the University of Mary and an associate of arts degree from Haskell Indian Nations University.

The Sanford Bismarck region provides health care to central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota. It includes 21 clinics in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot, Dickinson and Watford City, as well as a Level II trauma center located in Bismarck.
