Since 2014, Minot Coin & Bullion has been setting up displays at coin shows and flea markets and doing private appointments with clients. Now, to meet increased demand, Minot Coin & Bullion has opened a storefront in the lower level of the South Broadway Plaza at 1809 South Broadway.

“We got to the point where we needed a retail space, whether we are appraising collections, buying collections or selling coins or precious metals. We needed a retail space to conduct those transactions,” said Josh Hummel, co-owner along with his father, Don Hummel.

The business offers appraisals of collections. The appraisal fee varies depending upon the size of the collection. If Minot Coin & Bullion decides to purchase the collection, the appraisal fee is waived.

“What really drives our business is customers that want to buy collectible coins and precious metals,” explained Hummel. “There are a lot of people, especially with what is going on in the world, that are starting to gravitate toward precious metals, gold and silver.”

Hummel emphasized that he doesn’t give financial advice but will answer customers’ questions about precious metals.

“How to go about it, the cost involved and things like that,” said Hummel. “We both buy and sell coins, gold and silver, tokens, currency and jewelry. Really anything related to coins and bullion.”

For now, says Hummel, the business does not have regular hours of operation but rather is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling Hummel at 833-7979.

“We also have a site on Facebook you can like and you’ll get notifications of when we are open, at a coin show or flea market. Just like Minot Coin & Bullion on Facebook and get all the information,” added Don Hummel.
