Dufner is new local director of Special Olympics

Renee Dufner, Glenburn, has accepted the position of local director for the Special Olympics North Dakota program in the Minot area. Dufner’s responsibilities include the recruitment and training of volunteers and athletes, organizing area competitions, promoting the program throughout the area, as well as fundraising for the program.

Dufner has been a volunteer with Special Olympics for more than eight years as a parent and two years as a coach. She is the district court administrative assistant with Court Administration, Unit 4, Minot.

Special Olympics North Dakota is part of a worldwide non-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities in 15 sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Close to 1,600 athletes are served in North Dakota; 150 in the Minot area.
