Independence Inc. hosts 4th Annual Chili Bowl Fundraiser

Independence Inc ., a local non-profit committed to empowering North Dakotans with disabilities, invites community members to attend the 4th Annual Chili Bowl Fundraiser Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sleep Inn and Suites.

Local restaurants and chefs will compete to be named the 2019 Chili Bowl Champion. Participants include Souris River Brewing Co., Charlie’s Main Street Cafe, Elevation, Starving Rooster, The Cheesesteak Factory, El Azteca, Panera Bread, Minot High School Culinary Club and Burdick Job Corps.

Contestants will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of local realtors. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample and cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award.

In addition to sampling the Magic City’s finest chili, patrons will enjoy appearances from Miss North Dakota USA and Miss Teen North Dakota USA, live music, a cash bar, raffle drawing, and silent auction. This year’s auction features a variety of items including vacation getaways, dining packages, autographed sports memorabilia, a pressure washer, gift baskets and so much more.

Tickets are on sale for $20 each. Adult admission includes all-you-can-eat chili samples and raffle entry for a meat package, Apple iPad or cash prize. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting independencecil.org/Events or at the door.

Event proceeds will help support programs designed to empower people with disabilities to live independently.
