North Dakota State Fair recognized for excellence

The North Dakota State Fair earned international and regional recognition at industry conferences. At the 128th annual International Association of Fairs and Expositions convention, fairs from around the world submit entries. This year NDSF received 11 IAFE Awards of Excellence.

Each category being judged at the IAFE convention focuses on a different aspect of specific events and event planning. “The IAFE Agricultural Awards and Communication Awards contest provides fairs with a unique collaboration experience, allowing them to critique fairs, internationally,” Lori Hart, director of education and member services, said.

NDSF was also recognized regionally at the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs convention. The Summit Awards Program recognizes the outstanding achievements for fair members from 12 states and two Canadian providences.

The North Dakota State Fair earned these awards:

3 IAFE Competitive Exhibits Awards

3 IAFE Agriculture Awards

1 IAFE Innovation in Sponsorship Awards

4 IAFE Hall of Honor Communications Awards

4 Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs Summit Awards

General Manager of the State Fair Renae Korslien stated, “We are so honored to be recognized on both levels for the work we love to do for the North Dakota State Fair. Each year we do our best to create an event that is the showcase for North Dakota. With just under 47,000 competitive exhibits on display in 2018, we have so much to be proud of as a Fair.”
