Yogify YOU at YogifyU

T. Guillemets once said, “A photographer gets people to pose for him. A yoga instructor gets people to pose for themselves.” Nora Mihalick is one of these instructors.

YogifyU, a new up and coming business that offers both hot and fitness yoga, opened its doors to the public on Oct. 27. Mihalick, founder and owner of YogifyU, followed her father’s lead in the business world and earned a bachelors degree in exercise and wellness as well as small business in May of 2014. She went on to complete her 200 hours of Registered Yoga Teacher Training in September, making her well-versed in all things yoga.

Mihalick’s love for yoga did not merely begin in college, however. “My passion for yoga began when I took my first hot yoga class in 2011,” Mihalick said, smiling. “After that, my love for yoga just grew.”

YogifyU offers beginner classes, also known as Hatha, as well as intermediate classes, Vinyasa, for those who are more experienced. This company even offers a chair yoga class geared toward the geriatric population and those recovering from injuries. “You still get a great workout, it’s just a more relaxed and slower moving class,” said Mihalick. “I wanted to have classes for anyone, regardless of age or condition.”

Regardless of the class, customers can be confident that their strength, flexibility, and balance will be tested and improved, all while calming and centering the mind, body, and spirit.

YogifyU, located at 2 S. Main St., Suite 115, offers a clean, multi-function room that is built for both hot and fitness yoga as well as a cozy lobby to relax in before or after class. Customers are invited to bring their own mat and towel, but both are available for rent in the studio.

It is not money that seems to be at the front of Mihalick’s mind, however. “I wanted to create a place where people who love yoga could step out of the real world, practice, and feel much more at peace with themselves.” Mihalick said. “Yoga helps people become more flexible and improves balance, but that’s not the main goal. The main goal is to be more at peace with yourself, to accept yourself and everything around you.”

According to Mihalick, the success of her business in the first few months has exceeded her expectations. She loves greeting new customers and regulars alike and feels like her job has been done when people walk out of the studio smiling.

Mihalick invites all people, beginner and experienced, regardless of age and stature, to join in on her passion and, as the name puts it, yogify themselves.

Starting at $2.99/week.
