Heritage Park celebrates Scandinavian culture
The Shirley Bicentennial Park, more commonly known as the Scandinavian Heritage Park, is open from May 17-Oct. 1. Volunteers are stationed at the Gol Stave church during this season Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The park honors five countries – Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland – and is the only park in the world dedicated to all five. The park is owned and maintained by the Minot Park District but all features in the park were put in place by the Scandinavian Heritage Association.
