Auditions for ‘Oliver!’ set for Jan. 15

Western Plains Opera will be holding auditions Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University for its spring production of “Oliver!” Audition times are: Fourth-eighth graders: 7-7:30 p.m. Ninth-12th graders: 7:30-8 p.m. College students: 8-8:30 p.m. Adults: 8:30-9 p.m. Times are approximate. Minot group to hold first pickleball tournament

A group of pickleball enthusiasts around Minot have joined forces to form a not-for-profit Pickleball Association, which is meant to be a resource for people to become involved in the sport, said Cale Mogard, the organization’s treasurer. On Saturday at 8 a.m., the association will host its first pickleball tournament at Cameron Indoor Tennis Center in Minot. This will be the first event since the group’s start, and it plans on having tournaments occasionally through the year, Mogard said.
