House of Horrors returns to Minot

By MDN STAFF 2 min read

Minot Area Council of the Arts and Taube Museum of Art have teamed up for a post-apocalyptic Halloween experience and seek volunteers to bring the scares to life.

House of Horrors: Post Apocalypse Before Christmas returns to Magic City Alley, Central Avenue, in downtown Minot for four nights. The event will be held on Friday, Oct. 23; Saturday, Oct, 24; and Friday, Oct. 30, from 8 p.m.-midnight, and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 p.m.-midnight. Children 5 years of age and younger get in free.

The event is a collaborative fundraiser supporting the Minot Area Council of the Arts and the Taube Museum of Art.

Organizers are putting out a special call for community volunteers, particularly those interested in becoming scare actors. No acting experience is necessary. Volunteers simply need enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to have some Halloween fun. Participants can volunteer for one night or multiple shifts, depending on their availability.

"Events like House of Horrors wouldn't be possible without the people who give their time to make them happen," said Myles Barcomb, co-executive Director of MACA. "We're especially looking for people who enjoy Halloween and want to be part of creating a memorable experience for our community. Whether you've volunteered before or want to give it a try for the first time, we'd love to have you join us."

Community members, businesses, student organizations and groups of friends are encouraged to get involved.
