Midwest MonsterCon, a yearly convention held in Minot around Halloween since 2024, will be two days long this year.
Michael McCloud, founder of Midwest MonsterCon, said the event will feature All Rolled Up, Cryptic Creations, Mythic Emporium and other vendors, celebrity guests, movies, games, contests, discussions and more.
Featured artists will reveal their short film, poster and writing contests. The wide variety of activities speaks to the uniqueness of the event. The convention will have about 45 different vendors using around 65 booth spaces and is expected to bring in around 1,000 visitors over its two-day run. Vendors will sell items including art, 3d printed items, food and collectibles.
There will be question and answer sessions with the celebrity guests, a paranormal discussion, games, board game tournaments and a talk with Anna Moss, the state director and co-director of Northlawn MUFON (Mutual UFO Network).
Celebrity guests, along with Moss, are Paul Taylor, known for his role as Pinhead in “Hellraiser: Judgement”; Drew Fortier, a musician, filmmaker and actor known for the film “Bunker Heights”; and Hannah Fierman, known for her role in the horror anthology “V/H/S.”
There is an admission charge.
McCloud and his wife, Paula, started Midwest MonsterCon with help from Wendy Kimble, a high school friend, and her husband, Dale.
"Our goal was to create an event where people could come together, have fun and get into the spirit of the Halloween season,” McCloud said.
