MSU Summer Theatre closes out Season 61 this coming week with its final production of the summer, "The Little Mermaid," directed by Seth Honerman.
Adapted from the animated Disney classic of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, this musical takes audiences to a magical kingdom "Under the Sea." Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, longs to pursue her dreams in the world above the water and strikes a dangerous bargain with the sea witch, Ursula, to trade her voice for legs so she can be human. It is a timeless story of love and sacrifice, featuring iconic songs like “Part of Your World," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," “Kiss the Girl,” along with memorable new songs. It’s fun for the whole family.
Performances are Monday through Friday, July 27-31, and Saturday, Aug. 1, beginning at 8:30 p.m. with the box office opening at 8 p.m. Tickets are available online or call the box office at 858-3228. There will be an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performance on Tuesday, July 28, sponsored by the Minot Sertoma Club. The ASL designated seating area is limited, so deaf and hard of hearing guests are encouraged to contact the box office for more information on reserved seating for this performance.
